Desires mount with the passing years;
Denial inspires sorrow with bitter tears.
Where do they originate from and why,
Expecting to have things without a try?
Why do they linger and never go away,
To take up residence and heavy weigh.
Desires ebb and flow just like the tide;
You wish them gone, there they reside.
The heart fills with aimless butterflies,
Seeking for nectar that only multiplies.
Wanting will crest as a wave taunting,
An unfulfilled impulse simply haunting.
I gave up, letting desire come and go,
Figments of mind that will never know.
