The Breath of Poetry

Perfect love has the breath of poetry,
That shines down as the sun’s beams.
Poetry has elements of a perfect love,
Offering so much more than it seems.
The deep whispers of the eternal heart,
Lovingly whispered in the human heart.

Only true poets are the ones capable,
Blythe songstresses of heavenly birds.
They endlessly search for the Ineffable,
Their findings they try to put into words.
They probe, they question, they dare,
Our lyrical watchmen who still do care.

Today’s poets place us into the center,
Into the true selves we have forgotten.
Life’s mystery becomes a true mentor,
We have left aside and misbegotten.
They unveil anew the human condition,
In order to fulfill their stated mission.

His verses wrapped as petals in a bud,
Whose bloom will smell of perfumes.
In writing he bleeds out his life’s blood,
Drawn from suffering only he assumes.
A poem feels like the comfort of home,
As it echoes beyond the celestial dome.
