It is that time of year when I will be heading, hip-hopping my way back to the US via Europe and other parts unknown. I may be offline for a few days, so please forgive my lack of attention to writing comments and reviews. Here is a final poem to send me on my way.
Dreams Never Imagined

What makes my dreams so very easy to forget,
Dreams I no longer remember that I later regret?
I dreamt of being an actor, but couldn’t play a part;
I felt uncomfortable with the lie right from the start.
What makes my dreams so very easy to retire,
They have their moment and then no longer inspire?
I dreamt of being a bald eagle able to soar on high;
Wander freely in the heavens from the glorious sky.
What makes my dreams so very easy to dismiss,
Dreams I know I could never achieve and so never miss?
I dreamt of being an emperor, a president or a king;
Instead, I sang solo in a boy’s choir when I knew I could sing.
What makes my dreams so very easy to ridicule,
Dreams I never gave a chance because they weren’t cool?
You can’t be a blacksmith, a butcher, or a circus clown;
People will only laugh at you or worse just put you down.
What makes my dreams so very easy never to imagine,
Dreams seemingly beyond my reach I could just abandon?
A fighter pilot, CEO of a major company, or stock broker;
What did I know of money or leadership, I was just a joker.
Whether by others or by myself, someone stole my identity,
All the identities that as a child only I could easily foresee.
But life has taught me that dreams are there to be treasured,
Uplifting and inspiring, they can never be truly measured.
I never dreamt of being a poet; it never came to my mind
As I said, all my childhood dreams were of another kind.
But sometimes life creates dreams from its infinite store,
To fulfill a destiny never imagined and so very much more.
I once dreamt of becoming an opera singer. I had the talent but lacked the confidence to pursue the dream. It was just as well. I was always meant to write. I found this poem very apropos to my life.

We play many parts in this life, and sometimes they are the ones of our dreams. This poem reveals a lot about you and is intimately personal. It's like reading an autobiography.
Dreams are there to be our master or are there to amuse us in our attempt to soar the clouds. You have done well in describing the real work of dreams.
Sometimes life creates dreams far beyond our expectation. I'm wishing you safe journey my friend, upon your return I am sure you will be full of inspiration. Take care, write soon, hugs
