Music in the Night Air
By John Herlihy
The bells toll from far distant climes,
A breeze tinkles whispers of chimes.
Silver chimes steal away the breeze,
To gather rhythms to sound with ease.
Echoing in the night its ancient runes,
Ghostly presence lingers in the tunes.
A palace courtyard hears harp-songs,
In a monastery knocks celestial gongs.
In cloisters the air has sonorous chants,
The pure heart its sincerity freely grants.
The wind its own unique voice claims,
In its wake only an airy mood remains.
Where I go, I see music in the night air,
From light of falling stars, I hear prayer.
Love ya!
