- I Don’t Give Much Thought -

I don’t give much thought

To where I lay down my head.

I would so much rather worry

about where I’m going instead.

I really don’t much care

To accumulate many possessions.

Still I pay attention to what I wear

Still willing to make honest confessions.

I don’t have too much fear

What may happen about results.

I just focus on the doing of the job

This frees me of many doubts.

I don’t have much of a desire

To seek out and achieve fame.

If it comes to me, so be it

If it doesn’t, then no one’s to blame.

I don’t have much inclination

To pursue a life of doing wrong.

True, there is enough of temptation

To sing out loud the devil’s song.

I don’t have too much hope

Of accumulating a lot of wealth.

Plenty comes to me thru effort and work

No need for me to resort to stealth.

One thing I do give a lot of thought,

As I see the passing of the years.

To discovering who I really am,

Beyond the boundaries of my frontiers.
