-- Window with a View -–
John Herlihy
I always consider a view as a treasure,
A way to fill my soul in equal measure.
So much of what we see seems sordid,
Even our gloomy thoughts feel morbid.
I see the sunrise as if it will never rise,
On that day, I do see it with inner eyes.
I see the horizon as twilight descends,
As the light dims, I hope it never ends.
Not every beach needs powdery sands,
Paddy fields terraced in distant lands.
Skylight streaks on in streaming rays,
Moonlight glistens upon shadow bays.
An eagle airy perched on ragged cliffs,
Strong wind turns flakes to snow drifts.
I walked across a boundless savannah,
Breath taken by the infinite panorama.
Desert winds upon shifting sands sigh,
Overhead, teeming stars in a dark sky.
Just give me a window with a fine view,
Tinted by white snow and morning dew.

Tinted by white snow and morning dew."

Your last line reminded me of all the times my windows were tinted with frost.
