Out of the realm of nothing life born,
Light from the realm of mystery torn.
Ready for a journey with hooves shorn,
This mystery of light will our soul adorn.
A soul light does human hearts inspire,
Smoldering embers make a lasting fire.
Lovingly drawn forth from earth’s mire,
Toward the luminous light we do aspire.
The truth of life’s mystery always hidden,
To unravel the secret an entreaty bidden.
To ignore life’s mystery an idea forbidden,
Behold a secret and a mystery lies within.
With the end, we will finally come to know
Body, mind, heart as a living soul will glow.

Last night I watched, halfheartedly, a semi-scientific study of "Why We Hate." While revealing a little bit about evolution, particularly about the difference in behavior between chimpanzees (can be quite violent) and bonobos (friendly and benevolent). The conclusion was that chimpanzees on the north side of the Congo River, were faced with a shortage of food, resulting in conflict over scarce resources. While on the other hand, bonobos evolved in a kind of garden of Eden south of the Congo River and never were faced with scarcity in resources.
The lesson from this is that our souls or spirits become less violent when we are not confronted with life and death situations, but are provided with the basics and respect for our thoughts.
