What do we consider as the highest goal in life,

The highest pinnacle remote from every strife?

Is our highest goal in life the pursuit of wealth,

Or the deepest satisfaction of an abiding health?

Some act with a vengeance in pursuit of power,

Gain tardy time by adding minutes to the hour.

Some people will lie and cheat for high position;

While others do run ruin from a wrong decision.

Forget not the endless journey leading to success,

Worth it for those who will never settle for less.

Then there is always the abiding question of love,

Our hearts soar heavenward on wings of a dove.

But what use love if our happiness may run risk;

The sun shines brightly, but the wind blows brisk.

I for one settle for a loving, uncomplaining wife;

All else falls in place with this highest goal in life.
