I have learned acceptance

From those who thrive on intolerance.

I have learned wisdom

From those who profess ignorance.

I have learned foresight

From those who display imprudence.

I have learned about virtue

From those who are steeped in vice.

I have learned kindness

From those who are always unkind.

Show me weakness and I will seek strength;

Give me a shadow to lend the brightness length.
