-- My Vow --
John Herlihy
We each our fate; we each something pay;
What we do exacted on each and every day.
We give ourselves away, awaiting some return;
Love an extended hand, innerly our hearts burn.
Sun rays thru the forest, the shadow of clouds;
Trembling of tulips, trees in winter snow shrouds.
The spring of love a deep well filled to the brim;
The risk of possibly loving too much my only sin.
The small things, the big things, indeed all things;
Entering the world’s soul in ways only love brings.
Farewell all hatred, all insult, all misery, all scorn;
Greetings to love in each day, my heart to adorn.
May all the waters of love’s well never run dry,
Even if the world’s oceans disappear into the sky.
For the sake of the world may my vow be such,
That love’s waters ever flow and never be too much.

I won't take a vow like you, but I believe in love all the way right along with you.
