-- The End of Silence --

John Herlihy

Everything has an end,

And so too does silence.

We can no longer pretend,

The truth of this act of defiance.

For eons, utter silence prevailed,

The deadly darkness never spoke.

In universal birth, sound assailed,

The life of the world finally awoke.

The first word of existence: BE!

Then the words: Let there be light!

The universe bloomed for all to see,

The end of silence and universal night.

Now everything in the world speaks,

Even silence finds ways to speak volumes.

Basso profundo uttered by mountain peaks,

The whispered beauty of peacock plumes.

The silence found in the descent of snow,

The perfume of the lilac never says a word.

The silence heard in the beams of moonglow,

Bird feathers fluffed by the wind never heard.

Love never found in the unspoken word,

Refusing to speak may perpetuate a lie.

Secrets of betrayal whispered, never heard,

A secret to live forever that will never die.

The end of silence can mark new beginning,

In being gone lies the possibility of return.

The silence of dawn upon the day grinning,

As flames of fire on life’s wick quietly burn.

The silence found in universal mystery,

Needs be expressed as a narrative to unfold.

The harmonious cords of universal melodies,

Find life in the blessed Spirit, sweetly told.

SO TRUE, SILENCE ENDED 'IN THE BEGINNING'. AND THE 'SOUNDS' OF LIFE HAVE BEEN PEALING IN UNIVERSAL UNISON, MAJESTICALLY...EVER SINCE! THOROUGHLY APPRECIATED. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
