-- God’s Eyes Watching --
John Herlihy
God’s eyes forever watching over them.
If they the bloom, then He be the stem.
If only they knew how much He cared,
Then all their sorrows somehow spared.
Paths of destiny as so many steps taken,
Souls of light not extinguished or forsaken.
Never given a burden more than to bear,
He will inspire hope our feelings to spare.
We the perpetrators, He is the witness,
Of all my faults, I the master and mistress.
We make our own choices thru free will,
Consequences belong to us as a bitter pill.
Their eyes forever watching for their God,
Humming bumblebee, blooming almond tree.
When I asked: Speak to me of God,
The tree produced flowers for all to see.
God’s eyes forever watching over me,
I see beauty thru the eyes of God in me.
