The door of my cottage open to the brave,

But eternally shut to the cowardly knave.

The door of my cottage open to the resolute,

But eternally shut to the dissolute.

The door of my cottage open to the patient,

But eternally shut to the impatient.

The door of my cottage open to the true of heart,

But eternally shut to the false of heart.

The door of my cottage open to the steadfast,

But eternally shut to those who never last.

The door to my cottage open to the faithful,

But eternally shut to those spiteful.

The door to my cottage open to all who endure,

But eternally shut to those impure.

The door of my cottage will lie forever open,

For those whose lives good will betoken.
