-- Eternal Light --

Eternal light invades the darkness of eternal night,

Drawn from an ancient fortress that shines bright.

Eternal light penetrates the depths of the universe,

Awakening people to the darkness now in reverse.

Eternal light seeps thru cracks of our darkest days,

Allowing resurgence of hope to shine in a variety of ways.

The pearl and the diamond know the perfection of light,

Pearls nurtured by the oyster, diamond rock out of sight.

When we are wrapped in the cocoon of a knowing bliss,

The darkness feels comfortable; the light is what we miss.

The light shaded with shadows that oftentimes can inspire,

Filling our hearts with shades of understanding and desire.

As we amble through our life and follow nature’s wild trail,

We need the luminosity of the light in telling nature’s tale.

Eternal darkness invades the radiance of eternal light,

Drawn from an ancient fortress protecting the night.

Eternal night penetrates dark depths of the universe,

Spooking people when we think of it in ways perverse.

Eternal night seeps thru the cracks of our lightest days,

Lending a despairing darkness to us in a variety of ways.

The pearl and the diamond know the perfection of night,

Pearls nurtured by oysters, diamonds in rock without light.

When we are wrapped in the lightness of a knowing bliss,

The light feels enlightening; the darkness is what we miss.

The darkness illuminated by specks of starlight can inspire,

Filling our hearts with stardust of understanding and desire.

As we amble through our life and follow nature’s wild trail,

We do need the darkness of the night in telling nature’s tale.
