-- Farther and Farther --

Farther and farther,

An infinity with no edge.

Shadows darker and darker,

The distance with no pledge.

In freefall falling, letting go,

No waiting for future pasts.

Free falling as winter snow,

What we cling to never lasts.

In falling, we wait to arise,

Winds of hope lift our wings.

Set free all that we despise,

Nearer to what life brings.

Nearness released from afar,

As intimate as a distant star.

Closer and closer,

An infinity with a pledge.

Shadows lighter and lighter,

The distance losing its edge.

I now know where I want to go,

Wait patiently for future present.

As peaceful as winter snow,

Outer space will finally relent.

Love will bring us closer still,

Such emotion feels so lofty.

Set free by a loving act of will,

In touch, we are touched softly.

Closeness gives up its distance,

Coming nearer with persistence.
