Now never arrives,

The moment always there.

No expectations contrived,

Each moment a prayer.

Now never departs,

Never takes its leave.

Seconds beat as hearts,

With time as reprieve.

Now is never past,

The moment alive.

Seconds that last,

Breaths that survive.

Now is never future,

Always its own reality.

Has no other suitor,

Only its own mystery.

Future is never now

Out there in the wings

Always waiting somehow

For what its promise brings

Now a moment of action,

Witness to all that I do.

Focus of time’s passion,

A bird that always flew.

Now a moment of truth,

Sees thru an eye of mystery.

Always there, never aloof,

Sees thru an eye of certainty.
