Riches be worthless,

If they pride entail.

Poverty be priceless,

If it does pride assail.

Anger is justified,

If your love betrayed.

Anger is mystified,

If your love be staid.

Love is blissful,

If with trust fulfilled.

Love is doleful,

If we with distrust filled.

My heart weeps,

If our promise broken.

My heart steady beats,

 If fidelity is betoken.

Lost in the journey,

If no sense of direction.

Found in the journey,

If a sense of reflection.

Feelings of despair,

If there is no hope.

Succor be in prayer,

If we climb the divine rope.

Hope feels real,

If there be promise.

Hope feels unreal,

If bereft of solace.

Lies gain length,

If truth be nullified.

Lies loose strength,

If truth be sanctified.

Courage can falter,

If we hide in a cave.

Cowardice can strengthen,

If our hearts be brave.

Life without giving,

If we emptiness hold.

Life is worth living,

If we let truth be told.
