-- Remembering -- John Herlihy The only things he cannot remember Are the things he never knew. The only things he wants to remember Are the things he cannot know. He remembers so many things. All the things that he knows. He remembers so few things. All the things he doesn’t want to know. He remembers those who offended him. He forgets those who supported him. He remembers those who forget him. He forgets those who remember him. He remembers those who loved him. He forgets those who disliked him. He forgets those who have lied to him. He remembers those who spoke truth. He remembers those who forgave him. He forgets those who didn’t forgive him. He remembers things he need not remember. He forgets things that he should remember. Just as he has many people forgotten. He himself is by many not remembered. He doesn’t mind that he will be forgotten. WELL, MY FRIEND...THERE IS 'ONE' WHO WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER US AND CANNOT FORGET US, NOR DOES HE WANT TO. FOR WE ARE ENGRAVED ON THE PALMS OF 'HIS' HAND. IT'S GOOD TO KNOW THAT WITH ALL THE THINGS I REMEMBER, BUT THEN ALSO THE NUMEROUS THINGS THAT I'VE FORGOTTEN...I DO REMEMBER THAT THERE IS ONE WHO DOES AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE ME ON 'HIS' MIND. THOUGHT PROVOKING AND ENJOYED. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

Such is the malady all must face at some time in their lives. That which we remember and that which we forget are indeed a conundrum of many "whys?" Yet, how rewarding to know there are some of the living that will remember you and what you gave them in the form of critical thinking in poetic form. Thank you for posting. A message of hopefully ending one's journey with a soft landing.
