What is enough?

When we always want more,

At the brim, hang tough,

Simply close the open door,

What means enough?

A word I don’t understand,

When is enough too much,

Levelled at me as a command?

Not yet enough?

Our hunger wants more.

Still not enough?

We feel it deep in our core.

When is enough -- enough?

Sorrow, miseries, grief.

I have finally had enough,

Now give me some relief.

When it enough never enough?

Enough money, enough time.

We need more of the right stuff.

Whatever belongs to me is mine.

When is enough too much?

The guest at dinner filled.

But you haven’t eaten much?

Thanks, but to the brim filled.

Enough is enough.

The word says what it means.

No frills, no fur, no fluff,

No need for any proteins.

Enough a word on edge,

Not ever enough, too much by far.

At the end of a wedge,

Enough leaves the door ajar.
