-- Night into Day --
John Herlihy
The night gone as if it were pawned,
The day arrived as the light dawned.
What will arrive to claim the night,
But nature’s pure unchanging light.
On light of dawn the wind arrives,
Cleansing earth of secrets and lies.
Words spoke but cannot be heard,
Day dawned in the song of a bird.
Evoke memories we never knew,
Into such mystery the wind blew.
As dawn strikes its magic wand,
Light ignites wavelets on a pond.
Making the night’s lies impossible,
Making impossible truths possible.
