-- Shattered -- By John Herlihy Shattered glass glimmers Shattered hope simmers Noble effort hopes betoken Lost dreams a heart broken A moment heart-breaking In a life seemingly forsaking A heavy burden unbearable A lightened burden bearable All the world will us assail In determination we prevail Road’s end nowhere to turn Finally, we are made to learn Sitting on the edge of despair Whispers in the heart of prayer Pieced together as stained glass Bejeweled rainbows to amass No regrets, nothing to miss Every moment a divine kiss - - - - - - Copyright © John Herlihy Saturday 26 May 2023

I love how you use stained glass in this analogy. It is a lovely example of how we can be broken into seemingly mismatched parts then be reconstructed into something of true beauty.
