-- Morning, Noon, Night --
By John Herlihy
Morning
Dawn’s arrival breathes in air
Hope found in dawn’s prayer
Rays of first light shine as flair
The departing night in despair
The arrow again lifted in time
A trajectory measured sublime
The circle traced as endless line
Air smells of rosemary, thyme
Noon
Noon mark’s the zenith of the day
Nature is dressed in seasonal array
Falling snow with snowflakes at play
Summer flowers gloriously on display
The day’s pivot with time in balance
The day’s peak as one of its talents
Careless, moving with nonchalance
Noon beats in measured tolerance
Night
Night’s heart beats second by second
Wistful stars in twinkling did beckon
Mysteries abound no one can reckon
Yet every night these envoys happen
Perform celestial duty, never slacken
Even they move in a circular pattern
All is designed in the spirit of wonder
Deep into inquiring hearts to plunder
Alas, the world never appears the same
What the dawn offers the day will blame
Too little too late, the day ends in shame
The darkness of night worthy of its name

Love ya!
Jane
I would get tired and not return the theme again for fear of writing a lesser poem.
