By the new day and all its brightness,

By the quiet night and all its darkness,

By the fulsome sun and all its glimmer,

By the crescent moon shining dimmer,

By the dome of heaven arching overhead,

By the earth laid down as a carpet spread,

By the soul and the One who fashioned it,

With a sense of right and wrong inspired it,

Enlightened those who purify their soul,

Darkened the ones who corrupt their soul,

Proud those who reject truth in arrogance,

Sad those who foster lies in their ignorance,

Blest those who seek truth in recompense,

Damned are those who fear no consequence.
