-- Do Not Blame the Wind --

by John Herlihy

Do not blame the wind,

That it cannot be seen.

Do not accuse the wind,

Sweeping the earth clean.

Do not question the air,

Sentries will pass it thru.

Even kings kneel in prayer,

As careless wind blows true .

Do not attribute to wind,

Sorrow we must endure.

Pursuing the way of the wind,

The foot does the sandal lure.

Do not find fault in the wind,

For scattering about the ashes.

The noble wind seeks its way,

Silently thru mountain passes.

Throw sand against the wind

The wind blows it back again

Hurl all lies against the wind

They are spoken but in vain

I will scatter all my sorrows,

As spring melts winter frost.

Fresh winds stir tomorrows,

Forever seeking, never lost.

Do not blame innocent wind,

For scattering autumn leaves.

Blameless be innocent wind,

That sings, howls and grieves.

Listen to the voice of the wind,

That speaks what’s on its mind.

Listen to the cry of the wind,

Its whispers both harsh and kind.

Invite the wind in as your guest,

Never seen, only its voice heard.

Poor wind with no home or rest,

On the move as an ancient bird.

LOVE THIS WORK ENTIRELY, BUT ESPECIALLY THE LAST LINES THAT REMINDED ME OF SOMEONE I KNOW. HE STANDS AT THE DOOR AND KNOCKS SO, '...INVITE THE WIND IN AS YOUR GUEST...' AND ALSO, BIRDS OF THE AIR HAVE NEST BUT I HAVE NOWHERE TO LAY MY HEAD '...POOR WIND WITH NO HOME OR REST...' DON'T BLAME THE WIND...INDEED, HOW OFTEN WE BLAME OTHERS(OR SOMETHING) FOR OUR PREDICAMENTS WHEN ACTUALLY 'NOTHING' HAPPENS THAT THE CREATOR DOESN'T ALLOW. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

With so many degrees of movement associated with breezes to hurricanes, your thoughts remind us of its ability to remain calm or rage in defiance. Makes you wonder if it doesn't have a mystical process it calls upon.

I love the wind, the stronger the better. So long as it doesn't turn tornadic.
