-- A Beautiful Thing -- by John Herlihy As things come together, Such a beautiful thing. As light as a feather, Only this life can bring. We are made of parts, Pieces that together mesh. Bodies with minds, hearts, A soul embodied in flesh. Still, pieces as in a puzzle, How do they fit together. Free will accepts no muzzle, An impulse no one can tether. Mind divided by choice, Seeking the one true voice. The heart emotions assemble, As flowers in wind tremble. DOWN HERE IN THE IMPERFECT PLACE...WE TRY TO BE ONE WITH GOD AND WE ARE BLESSED BECAUSE OF OUR SINCERE DESIRE AND EFFORTS. BUT THOUGH HE MAY ALLOW US AT TIMES TO TOUCH HIM, WE CANNOT BE SINLESS ON THIS PLANET...SO WE FAIL AT REMAINING IN HIS PRESENCE. HOWEVER I LOOK FORWARD TO THE IMMENSELY BEAUTIFUL THING OF ONENESS WITH OUR ALMIGHTY GOD, BEING WITH HIM... FOREVER, ON THE OTHER SIDE. ENJOYED AND THANK FOR SHARING. Two readings through and five lines jump out for me: �Pieces that together mesh./Bodies with minds, hearts,/A soul embodied in flesh.� and �Free will accepts no muzzle,/An impulse no one can tether.� This piece resonates with so much reverence, John. ~~ djl {My very favorite is: �Free will accepts no muzzle,�. I just love that.}
