-- How Do We Live --

by John Herlihy

How do we seek to live?

Do we ever give thought?

Of passing thru life’s sieve,

Before we come to not.

What is it that we believe?

Truth we come to know.

We smile, endure, grieve,

With every high and low.

Who is it that we trust,

When no one else there?

Breath of incense and musk,

To murmur a heartfelt prayer.

Who is it that we worship?

The Lord God on high.

Whispered entreaties on the lip,

On no one but Him to rely.

Where are we headed?

Beyond the horizon, the sky.

Nothing more to be dreaded,

In finding the answer to why.

When is it that we arrive,

When the tale fully spoken?

Sweet memories kept alive,

Life’s meaning to betoken.

Do not ever question the soul,

That lies at the heart of mystery.

Divine Remembrance makes us whole,

In waves of perfection, bliss, beauty.

I CANNOT ANSWER FOR OTHERS, BUT AS FOR ME I FOLLOW THE WORD OF GOD...WHICH IS HIS 'LOVE LETTER' TO US AND A 'MAP' THAT DIRECTS US TO HIM. SO THEN HOW WE I LIVE? 'THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH' AND 'WITHOUT FAITH...IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD, FOR WE MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS AND IS A REWARDER OF THEM THAT DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM.'. THAT'S ALL I KNOW, AMEN. THANKS FOR SHARNG, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

After reading, "Where are we headed?", I had to stop and think about the fact that I don't even know where I'm headed to next week!! Your last verse is a heavy hitter, John!! 'Love it! In fact, I love this entire piece of work!!

Love ya!

In this corporeal body, no one ever really arrives anywhere except in the next moment. The day is coming though, when (following our last breath) each of us will arrive at the place our choices in this life have determined. Thanks for sharing. Peace... r
