-- The Spider’s Web Spun --

by John Herlihy

The night is old, the day is young,

The spider’s web must be spun.

Words flow freely on the tongue,

Pendulum of good and evil swung.

The darkest deeds must be done,

All true injustice must be undone.

Each person’s journey has begun,

Our every destination to be won.

The song of justice must be sung,

Promise of hope eternal sprung.

Reduce craven desires to none,

I seek my true reality in the One.

The strength and vitality of all things good lies with The One. Especially when the world seems darkest.

The spider patiently lays its trap, providing is only food source. And when the web is broken, immediately repairs it to its previous ability to catch passing insects.

Some corallary with human behavior expressed, but I don't agree with the last one that humans seem so desirous of having.

...I SEEK MY TRUE REALITY IN THE 'ONE'...IN WHOM I CAN BELIEVE 'HIS' EVERY WORD SPUN...A FAITHFUL WARRIOR WHO EACH BATTLE HAS WON...WE TRUST IN 'HIM' UNTIL OUR DAYS ARE DONE. AMEN. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY DEAR FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Yes, the only reality is in the ONE.

John, this has a unique attraction in the consistent end-line rhyming. I like it! Oh how this line: “The darkest deeds must be done,” rings out loud and fearsome, offset by my favorite line: “I seek my true reality in the One.” … especially the initial cap on the word One. Good One* ~~ djl
