Misfortune by John Herlihy Misfortune shows a way That leads to tomorrow No longer here to stay Put aside all the sorrow Misfortune here to stay From today to tomorrow Will this never go away All this lingering sorrow We live with misfortune As keynote of our strife We live with fortune As keynote of our life, Time to feel crestfallen From high estate fallen Then once again to arise, Every day a new surprise. - - - - - Copyright © John Herlihy Sunday 31 August 2025
