MIRROR POEMS Mystery to Believe In by John Herlihy We are faced every day of our lives, With a mystery that never explains itself. A mystery that at first only just a mystery, A mystery that we pay no attention to. A mystery that sparks sudden interest, A mystery to raise a multitude of questions. A mystery that is looking for attention, A mystery that is worthy of our attention. A mystery that merits further investigation, A mystery we begin to take an interest in. A mystery that begins to surprise people, A mystery that begins to unveil its heart. A mystery as revealing flower petal by petal, A mystery that many are ready to believe in. Mystery to Be Believed When you believe in this miraculous mystery, All the dust of the earth begins to settle down. Cresting waves make their way toward the shore, The sun speckles the glorious land with sunlight. The moon speckles the glorious night with moonlight, The mystery of loneliness, the mystery of the friend. The mystery of hardship and misery to the end, The mystery of fulfillment, the mystery of happiness. All the individual mysteries unite into one great mystery, The mystery of the Unseen felt as the one great intimacy. Interactions of love that make the earthly emotions pale, Winds of mystery allowing the great celestial ship to sail. An interesting subject that deserves even more attention than this insightful poem gives us. Mysteries are a great challenge to the brain. We always want to solve the mystery, but some, it could be argued, are destined to remain a mystery. If we could only identify those and save ourselves the tedious job of figuring it out. Good subject to kick around.

Believing in the miraculous is often linked with our capacity to love. For Michele and I, given what we've endured the last two years, it's the miraculous mystery of answered prayer and healing hands. Good imagery in this to support your premise. Enjoyed your thoughts John. Peace.
