I cannot bring you back

However much I cry

I cannot see your face again

However much I try

You are now locked within

My memories of love

I hope you will not forget me

From your place in heaven above

That someone kind will guide me

From here to where you are

One day, when it will be time

For me to find your star

Shining, as you always did

Besides me for many years

I am still here, so please

Forgive my many tears

Loneliness haunts my path

Wherever and whenever

I cannot again be free

As these bonds I will not sever

I am frightened to let go

In case I might forget

Or else my mind will cloud

And not remember that we met

'Please do not grieve for long

I no longer suffer pain

I am waiting, never fear

For we shall meet again

Our love transcends all time

Earthly death we cannot beat

But, I shall watch over you

Until again, in heaven, we meet'
