Music: A Whole New World
As I now gaze at our tiny, pregnant, Lupita
I marvel at the bond, between canine and man
I ponder when human and wolf, first connected
An event in history, which must have been grand
I would have loved to have been at the campfire
When man first offered wild wolf, his friendship
Over 100,000 years ago, the historians now say
When man and wolf, began a life-altering kinship
The day that wild wolf first accepted a cooked piece of meat
Offered by a caveman, sitting around his comforting campfire
When the ‘Wolf Mother of All Dogs’ accepted domestication
When the very first ‘Dog Pups’ were born, to her and their sire
Today, because of this unique friendship, started 100,000 years ago
There are over 400 types of canines, from Chihuahua to Great Dane
We humans owe quite a bit to their ancestors, Earth’s Wild Wolves
Yet today, so many want to annihilate Wolf, which to me, is insane
If not for that wondrous Wolf Mother of All Dogs
And that extremely wise Caveman, 100,000 years ago
I would not be blessed with the six canines I now have
And Man’s Best Friend would not exist, we’d be all alone
Please support America’s wildlife groups trying to save the Wild Wolf
And watch ‘And Man Created Dog’ presented by National Geographic
As both an ardent wild wolf advocate, and a devoted domestic dog lover
I sincerely believe a world without either wolf or dog would truly be horrific
Wolf is one of Earth’s predators,
That seldom, if ever, attacks man;
I have now really come to believe,
This was part of the Creator’s plan.
My spouse and I are now looking forward to,
The arrival of once homeless Lupita’s puppies;
A miraculous event, made possible by a wolf,
So very long ago, in mankind’s ancient history.
But the plight of both wolf and dog,
Is now so very extremely sad, today;
In just the past several days alone,
We’ve found five more starving strays.
