Paper Sky

Paper Sky

Translucent, yet opaque is this dream which clings to my paper sky.

Scatterings of thoughts limp cripple to the safe places within my mind.

I listened to the morning / mourning and I shut my eyes to the night.

She cried, yet no one heard; she took her wings but was afraid to fly.

So sighing now are the abominations which shred my paper sky.

Shards of recollections flutter in the windstorms of another time.

I reach out to kiss the sun / son; yet I had strayed too far from Him.

Silence amidst screams; darkness amidst light; catatonic lapses fade in black and white.

Profound. The double meanings in this poem make me wonder about all that is life, weathering life's storms, and hoping that there will be a truer/brigther tomorrow.

God bless you. Kathy

J. Allen,

This one hits closer than you know - powerfully penned. Especially,

" ... She cried, yet no one heard; she took her wings but was afraid to fly.
So sighing now are the abominations which shred my paper sky. ..."

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
