a nightmare calling
climbing Jacobs ladder
ascending to the upper story
calling my name...
standing in place steadfast
pinned on the spot by effort
watched by time
and happenstance transfixed...
a dreamer's paradise
night creatures
whisper in my ear...
butterflies dance in the breeze...
whipperwills sing a sad song...
and Grandpa frogs
croak the rhythm line...
call it what you will...
midus settles the bill...
thrills fall a dime a dozen...
and nightmares come calling cousins...

"call it what you will"...your dreams. "midus settles the bill," money talks. "thrills fall a dime a dozen"...meaningless? "and nightmares come calling cousins,"...everyone.
