Going through old stuff and found this written by my first husband, David Callaway, in 1970. He died in 1980 at age 30. Our peace and love hippie days.
Tragic that he died so young. The little left of him his words, thin as light but living as a window to what he was. You telling of his young death brings to memory my brother who died in the late seventies at just about the same age. I miss him a lot. David had some talent with words. Is there more? Other poems or writings? If there are you should put them up. I know my words will be my only legacy and I hope someone reads them when I'm gone. Thank you for displaying his work here Lark. Bob
Maybe it was that indeed, but the words still capture the modern mindset of a man toward the woman whom he loved. This was very good of you to post his poem. If there is a way for him to do it he is smiling today.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
