From remoteness a red dragon took shape,

Powerful eyes of burning.

Wings a sinew cape,

Forever a dark tool of learning.

Hostile and mulish, strong but true ,

One with a sharpest mind.

With each effortless beat,

Nearer she drew.

Like a wolfs melancholy indeed,

She told me to board her.

As if I could plead my case,

I felt so small before her.

I had skirmished dragons before but never a red,

It would cause utter tension.

Authoritative as natures splay lead,

I would be dead I had to mention.

Fortunes mirrored the ebb and flow of war,

United by a common goal.

I boarded not sure what was in store.

I didn’t really care on a whole.

Gathering whatever strength remained,

My tounge started to roll.

Smell of elements drifted and stained,

As thy zephyr tore at my soul.

With pouchy flesh of a broad neck,

The dragon looked haunted.

Shivering I vaulted onto stony deck,

Shinning large eyes looked on and taunted.

Like a fog with no wispy edges,

I felt a veil of evil approach.

An entourage of fear on ledges,

Thy Lord will soon encroach.
