When I was small we made a pact,
our destinies we sealed.
A promise made to each other,
to prove that Heaven’s real.
We promised each other
that no matter what,
even if one of us should die,
we’d always be together
just by looking at the sky.
We sealed our pact with our secret sign,
an “L” we made with our fingers.
We’d touch them together
slowly touching
skin to skin we’d linger.
And then we’d smile
and say our pledge,
“I love you more…the biggest!”
our “L’s” expanding
bigger, bigger,
love forever bonding.
Then you left me Grandma
and our deal I know you keep.
I feel you with me daily,
by my side, when I’m asleep.
My daughter and I now share Our pact,
Our code, Our sign lives on.
The deal we had forever lives
and you are never gone.
Happy Mother’s Day Grandma
You are still my mother and my friend.
Remember – “I love you the biggest”,
and our love will have no end…
