A Dog's Life...

I lie here waiting
for her to come home.
To make her day
To make my own.

I lie here waiting
the door will open soon
Hoping she will notice me
longing for her touch.

I lie here waiting
the time it goes so slow
Our time together passes
brief moments in a lifetime.

I lie here waiting
listening for the key
Missing her voice
hoping she misses me.

I lie here waiting
Tired she comes in
I run to her and wag my tail,
now our time begins.

We must be on the same wave length. I was about to post WHO TRAINS WHO when I saw your poem and had to read it.I have a St Benard mix and a long haired Dachshund. What a pair!
