You already look pretty, now you're shopping again;
watch your P's and Q's, to that I say amen.
Those high-priced designer jeans sure look fancy;
keep me here any longer and I'll get a little moody.
My back's starting to hurt, not a chair in sight;
is there any way I can fly away like a kite?
You love those purses, about a hundred-fifty in all;
I'm just standing around, I'd rather watch baseball.
Of course I don't mind shopping once in a while;
it's not my fault that I became a bibliophile.
Just take it easy when it comes to spending that money;
the economy is bad, but I surely love you honey.
Now we're in the shoe department, my oh my;
it's too warm in here, I can use a little shut eye.
Truly there are those who love to shop until they drop;
I'm not one of them 'cause I'd feel like a spinning top.
You already look pretty, now you're shopping again;
watch your P's and Q's, to that I say amen.
Someday, really, I'll take you for a shopping spree;
but first my darling, I need to finish all my poetry.
