A Scanty Bowl of Soup

A couplet poem about returning to a restaurant.

At first, the service was robust;

lately though I'm feeling nothing but disgust.

At first, I received plenty of noodles;

now, oh well, my favorite soup just dwindles.

My soup arrives without a napkin;

all I see is earrings in the face-skin.

Just like when this generation packs my groceries;

they seem to ignore any quality control preliminaries.

I spoke to the manager about this;

the whole darn thing seemed pretty hopeless.

The next bowl of soup, to my surprise;

told it was on the house, my nerves depressurized.

The scanty bowls returned once more;

where's the supervision, my nerves in a roar!

Has proficiency gone away forevermore;

the customer, always to be unsure?

At first, the service was robust;

perhaps now, just cook at home and bite the dust.

So if you'd like a scanty bowl of soup;

just go out, you may find a nincompoop.
