The Cross

A couplet poem about the emblem of suffering and shame.

The divine directive has gone out;

surely there's no valid reason to pout.

Man certainly cannot live by bread alone;

just try it, then you'll be on your own.

The cross is the power of the faithful;

make darn sure you don't become forgetful.

It can easily crush the spiritual demon;

set yourself apart, slay that dragon.

The emblem of the cross appears to be repugnant;

but on the other side, amazingly triumphant.

Suffering and shame, it had to be;

our own flesh crucified, the devil to flee.

Spiritual warfare is within our reach;

that cross will teach, watch out for the breach.

Joy came into the world because of the cross;

that oxymoron, much gain and no loss.

The divine directive has gone out;

be wise, and don't you dare flout.

Do not, anymore, hold tight your doubt;

sooner or later you'll gain some clout.

Let Your Goddess Grow! by Charlene Proctor

Intuitively, I know I've lived many lifetimes, and none more interesting than the one I'm living now. However, being born an old soul somehow did not excuse me from the same job I share with you and that is learning to craft a positive attitude about
