We are not very fond of being alone;
need entertainment, usually overblown.
We're always looking for a wishbone;
truth be told, we really need a backbone.
God is always speaking from sunrise to sunset;
sometimes like an exuberant presto from an octet.
We need an open ear lest we continually forget;
his mercy without measure, a trustworthy asset.
Why not try prayer, it sure beats despair;
why should you care if people think it's square?
Oh what's the use, that'll never solve my problem;
nothing ever changes, life is just loathsome.
If you don't pray, you give God no welcome;
now you know why life seems so cumbersome.
But once you experience the efficacy of prayer;
all trials and tribulations, then you can bear.
We are not very fond of being alone;
surrounded by din, we surely are prone.
Silence is golden, silence is profitable;
there we hear God's voice, positively indescribable.
