Caregivers are often praised as "heroes" or "saints" or "inspirations." This is caring and supportive; but this selection gives the other side of the coin.

CAREGIVING HERO

Verses:
I dahwannabe a caregiving hero, just wanna be a slob.
Wanna cruise along at bare-living zero, just wanna be a blob.

I dahwannabe an inspiration, just wannna suck my thumb. Wanna take me on a long vacation, just wanna beach my bum.

Chorus:
Caregiving takes care of all my nights and days,
I look heroic mostly ‘cause I fake it.
Want a job with accolades and glory, honor, praise?
I’d give it where and when you’d care to take it.

Verses:
I dahwannabe a caregiving saint--NO--just wanna be a sap. Wanna schlep along with no constraint so, I can just take a nap.

I dahwannabe a caregiving hero, just wanna be retired.   Wanna fiddle like a Rome-burning Nero, just wanna get fired.

Chorus:
Caregiving brings out a ton of tears and fears,
I look so brave but doubt that I can make it.
Want a job with compliments and admiration, cheers? I’d give it where and when you’d care to take it.
