In my nocturnal connection I live between two worlds
the one that is past and the one that has just begun
the sound of the crickets tells me I'm not quite awake
but the glare of the screen tells me, I'm not alseep
Forgoing the dream that was meant to be complete
I chose to knit the word before the break of dawn
not a sound do I hear cept' the sound of my fingers
as they meet the plastic keys of my computer screen
No happy thoughts come my way no sad ones either
though my pillow whispers alone I'm not discontent
for theres a beautiful lampost staring out my window
and it is eager to read what I am planning to soon seed
In my nocturnal visits I encounter the mainstay of wake
and only the crickets know where I am, for me thats OK
for soon the world will be abuzz with all kinds of action
and I will have to say goodbye, to the nights refraction.
FINE SHARING...JUST BEFORE THE RISE AND SHINE. I DON'T THINK THAT THERE IS ANYONE THAT CAN'T RELATE TO THIS, THANKS MYSTIC. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
Your time to muse and you get busy right away not to lose any of your thoughts. I find that time more likely to give me a short story that I have to elaborate later in the day when I write it from the memory of that brief dream with such strange beginnings and endings.
But you are writing about the process, not the actual spark. That probably is in your other poems.
Vienna, great description of the feeling upon early morn waking up. That time is such a neutral intercession after a night's rest filled with nether world dreams and before outside influence as life perks up. It is a welcome little time of respite in our busy lives.
I have not written much lately on the den or communicated on it for various reasons, but hope to start doing so again soon.
I have to do my writing late at night. When day is done, and the house is quiet. Morning never works for me, All I can think of is the stuff I've got to do.
Much to be gleaned from this about the writer personally. Remaining content, no matter what the situation, is a discipline many do not have. Early morning is my favorite time of day as well. Love waking up while it's still dark and watching the sky slowly lighten to another days new creative challenges and mysteries. IMO, a piece with melancholy, hope, and strength of character in balance. Thanks for sharing. r
From the Caribbean Sea to Machu Picchu in Peru, and from birds to flowers and butterflies, Reflections and Treasured Wonders offers a collection of images gathered from around the world.
Note: Since my husband's cancer surgery 4/25/05, this book content has been integrated into the public speaking content for audiences interested in a sassy approach to personal and/or community awareness events. Another chapbook on intimate love poet
