What an interesting poem! It is most apt and timely with regard to the theme of Halloween. New expressions and words in there as well. For example, "aude la." I've never heard that expression before. I am of French background (France) and so French is my first language. "Au delà" means "beyond" in French. Perhaps that is what you are referring to. "Gubernatorial" is another new word for me.
