On a dark Arabian night she dances bells on her fingers and round her heels sultry heat in the air in a smoked filled cafe any mans dream this Turkish delight soft chiffon skirt and veils of white rosewood skin reflecting shimming light from the musicians on the floor the drums beat stirring the feverish pulse of all seated all conversation becomes low or hushed the music undulates as tones rise taking all to the land of fantasy dreams her coins round her waist sound a counter beat to the soft sweet motion of her bare feet charcoal eyes and lips stained with ripe berries
she rises to her toes this ageless beauty in quiet repose extends her arms in a lilt manner, weaving a story old as time she spins and twirls contours her stomach with ease for her the assent to paradise has truly begun a smile parts her lips as she starts to unveil concealment set free, her spirit revealed the communion power is shared in her dance throwing off the bondage of society, invites all come near
It brought to mind the dancers I saw in Tunisia, very sensual images. There, they not only had ladies dancing, but a man too, wearing his flowing robe, he still moved in a very liquid sensual way. Jackie <> <

(((((cheryl))))) What an absolutely vivid image portrayed! I could see myself sitting on pillows watching each movement of this dance. I love these type of poems!

Born of their seeds, kingdom will rise against kingdom, one will hold great mysteries, one will turn the tide and one will not be bound. War is fought, not only on the field but also within the mind. Nothing is what it seems take nothing for granted.
