Applications of Differentiation…

Is this herein calculus, or trigonometry?

I believe it is still calculus, not that I would know,

My math brain has never been, what one would call, more than slow,

Hell, slow ain’t the word, when it came to math, I was never able to flow…

So decently good at the write was I, English being my best subject,

I majored in the English language in my short stint in college,

I tried as anyone did, to acquire more to use, knowledge,

But try as I may, I was unable to supplement my brain with any further smarts,

I was more into the Arts, like this my writing, philosophy and reading,

Therein I put the horse way before the cart…

I want to now, take classes in philosophy and art,

But have been told I must take the prerequisite prior to the course I really desire,

I am not there to win any points, nor take and pass tests, just to learn and decide,

If that is where I wish to be, to use what little knowledge I have, or to just abide,

But the college has its rules, jumping over classes being one I cannot pass by,

Even though I do not wish to achieve anymore than learning, no credits do I want,

These colleges are about as helpful as a seagull to a clam, right down its gullet it goes,

Forget the fact that the clam belongs in the sea, not in the seagull’s stomach…

Do I make, herein, any sense with regards this subject matter?

I hate to take the college to court and try to just shatter,

Its normal process, but I truly do not want the credits or the fame,

I only wish to hear, to read, to learn what others have in their heads,

Hopefully it is not the same, should I be somewhat ashamed?

These folks in the college seem to feel I should,

I know better as do you all, yes for sure I do and could or would…
