To Know the Self

Life as I see it exists, but that is as far as I can see...

To know the Self…


 


Lost and drowning in the flow of life’s floods,


Where am I going, where have I been,


Who knows, not I, so deep in sin…


 


Lost in my “id”, forever searching, forever I do slip,


Into and out of sanity, no maps, no road signs, of which I am accustomed,


No GPS, no radar, no one else there to ask directions of,


Just the sound of me losing my shortly present grip…


 


Herein is the place I need to explore, maybe I should strip,


As this is the place of my personal insanity,


A place to become the one who I am or go on to become the son of Sam…


 


Need I be a killer of none, or a molester of many, or for that matter, any?


I am the avatar of my own dreams, the searcher, the god of my own screams,


Am I, or have I ever been anymore than the murderer of the self?


Constantly desirous of raping and pillaging those that exist in my “id”, or so they did…


 


I find, through out this whole theme, over this weekend, that is, my desire to write,


Has been thwarted with regards the humorous, more aimed at a philosophical nature,


A philosophy of my internal environs, far too dangerous a subject for a therapist,


To delve into without that of a body-guard, or someone else as hard,


To know oneself is to know complete freedom, to know freedom is to desire peace…
