What Puts You Off?
We all write for ourselves,
And we write for you as well,
We wish to see your reactions,
We wish to gauge your actions…
When we write, well when I do so,
I want to know what puts you off,
So I can make what I write something,
That will draw your attention, so to speak,
The title is all you see,
What type of title makes you peek?
Then go on and read, then critique?
My humor it is said is comical,
My “id” of ed writes also could be considered lyrical,
When from the paws of Rufuz, many comments are proffered,
Should I just write under his name, a pseudonym so to speak?
Or should I just remain the same,
Staying with what has come to be, for me, a unique technique…
It was stated best by an ancient Greek,
“Just take off your clothes, take a leak, and go do a streak…”
That being as far as one can get to try to write to the masses,
Write for the self; write for the few,
Don’t try to write to the many, as you will surely someday need glasses…

What puts ME off is poetry that is gross, or sexually explicit,
and the poems that contain "those words" you don't want your
children reading or saying.
The greatest "art" in the world, by pen, did not need to include
any of these things...and it lasts indefinitely.
You write some really good stuff, Ed. Serious stuff, and humorous
stuff that hasn't any of the above elements in it.
Keep up that good work!
