Is the picture a face or the word Liar?

Poem Artwork

The Face of a Liar...

Have I lied; maybe I am that of a spy,

I certainly do like a great deal sandwiches made with rye,

But again, herein do I lie, you cannot tell,

All you see is what I write, is it enough,

To make you believe that I am alright…

Is it my face, or my demeanor?

That makes me in any way attractive or not,

Am I the liar pictured above, or am I telling the truth?

But if I am a liar, can I tell the truth, just this once,

Or should I just go on with this poem, thereby being a dunce…?

And if I am a truths Ayer, can one little white lie hurt,

What is a white lie, as opposed to a black one or purple or green or blue,

Are lies made for colors, are they really there to become one with any hue?

So much for me, now lets discuss what we know, and think about you…

Are you the liar herein with the face so dark and light, or otherwise on cue,

I wonder, if I am the liar, or is it you, or am I at all a liar, or are you for that matter…

Aha, here we have, yet another Ed: the Cryptic Ed. I immediately saw a face, had to LOOK for that word up there.. but that's me. This is the poem of one who is not afraid to scrape his own depths and invite the reader in to see what's there.. profound, yet very accessible, you are here, m'dear. But, no, tempting as lies may be, in their various colors, I know you to be a truth teller... this is one of your best poems, Ed. Inspiring! katy xox.

Provoking thoughts Ed, and you ask and ponder a tough question, for I think that almost everyone thinks of themselves as basically honest, but even in that, are we just lying to ourselves? Great write and thoughts here.
