Meant to Be,..
Is a tree?
Is it me?
Are any of us meant to be?
For that matter are we?
All questions of meaningful verve,
Sometimes answered with all due nerve,
Searching are we to find the truth to serve,
Be cautious of the road ahead, especially of the curve…
Early morning, 4:30am, and it is easiest to wax poetic,
At an hour that sees no nosey neighbors,
Nor conversations regards the weather,
Best to write at this time, even Rufuz asleep,
With his dad typing poems, his soul in my keep…
Recent problems seem to alleviate selves,
With less sleep, less food and more water,
Speaking from the self, along the “id’s” border,
I find I am quite philosophical the more tired I get,
Is that human nature, or just me; as if it is,
I re-ask the first question, is it altogether meant to be?

We are really supposed to be waxing our CARS at 4:30 a.m., thereby
saving our readers a lot of frustration, and saving our cars a lot
of rust. But poets do not engage in such menial tasks, right?
This is a cute poem, Ed. I enjoyed the mind probe.
